加拿大校园的耐候钢科技建筑/Perkins + Will
Perkins + Will completes corten tech building for Canadian university campus

在安大略的弗莱明大学的校园内,Perkins + Will完成了一座科技中心的建筑设计。在加拿大,已经增加了对高等教育的投入,希望促进性别平衡。以建筑设计为工具,以吸引女性来研究更多男性主导的专业,Kawartha贸易和科技中心大楼的建设已证明它对增加女学生申请者的影响。

Perkins + Will  has completed the technology center within the campus of Fleming college in Ontario. In Canada, there has been increase investments into higher education in hopes to promote gender equity. By using architecture and design as the tool to drive and attract females to study more male-dominated majors, the construction of the Kawartha trades and technology building has proved effected in growing its female student applicants.

Kawartha贸易和科技中心大楼的附加部分的特点是它融合了多学科的四层“学习立方体”,它模仿了一个施工现场。建筑被设计成两个联锁、棚状的体块,覆盖了耐候钢板和纤维加固的水泥板,向校园呈现了一个独特的新面孔,和谐地融入了自然环境中。

The addition of the Kawartha Trades + Technology Centre (KTTC) is characterized by its four-storey multidisciplinary ‘learning cube’ that mimics a construction site. Conceived as two as two interlocking, shed-like volumes, the building is clad in corten steel and fibre reinforced cement panels, presenting a distinctive new face to the campus, which blends harmoniously with the natural surroundings.

Perkins + wills将该方案分为两层,融入该基地的地形。室内,建筑容纳教室、教师办公室和行政空间,以及各种教学研讨会、大部分的项目库和一个大型的27000平方英尺的灵活的多学科项目空间,它被称为“学习工厂”。

Perkins + wills organized the scheme into split levels that engages the topography of the site.Inside, the building houses classrooms, faculty office and administrative spaces. As well as various teaching workshops, bulk project storage, and a large 27,000 sq. Ft. flexible multidisciplinary project space called the ‘learning factory’.

建筑的位置激活了该地区作为行人区的活动,并吸引从学生公寓、运动和健康中心的学生前来活动。室内,一个大型的公共区域包含互动的智能教室、休息区和展示空间,俯看中央学习工厂。这一特性为建筑和校园内的用户提供了动态的场所。因为它完成了开放式学习布局的蓝图,强调“透明度”作为参与元素,这为女学生提供了更大的生理和心理上的安全感。

The positioning of the building activates the area as a pedestrian zone, and invites movement from the student residences and sport and wellness centre. Inside, a large common area with interactive smart classrooms, lounge areas and presentation spaces overlook the central learning factory. This feature offers a dynamic venue for users of the building and campus alike. Since it completion the blueprint of open learning layout, emphasis on ‘transparency’ has been engaging elements that has contributed to a greater sense of physical and emotional safety for female students.
