Ripple Wall / Archi-Union Architects
兰溪庭坐落在成都非物质文化遗产公园内,由三进院落空间构成,它们分别承担了餐饮、内院和私人会所的功能。在设计上,建筑师运用了数字化建造方式的语言重新阐释了中国传统建筑的形式。
The Lanxi Curtilage is located at the International Intangible Cultural Heritage Park in Chengdu, China. It is composed of three parts: restaurant, inner courtyard and private club. It is an interpretation of traditional Chinese architecture through the language of digital fabrication methods.
该项目在空间组织方面是对中国传统江南园林建筑的全新演绎,纵深方向居所与院落的多重组合布局表达了传统园林中的空间层次性和多维性,而对山水意向的绵延起伏也由建筑屋顶的高低起伏和变化形象加以表达,同时也对中国传统的坡屋顶文化符号进行隐喻。
水墙的设计源于对水这一灵动自然意境的一次数字化转译,设计之初我们运用算法试图捕捉其在时间维度上趋于静止时的瞬时动态,而设计转化为对这一动态过程进行实体的建筑语言的表述。最终我们选择了青砖这一传统建筑材料和极为普遍的错缝砌筑来对其转化,但特殊的空缝砌筑模式实现了动态水流的视觉效果和厚重墙体轻盈通透效果的表达。设计的重点除了建筑的形态更重要的是合理的施工建造方式,现有的技术和施工条件不允许我们使用机械臂这类数控加工设备来对不同错缝尺寸的砖进行精确的表达,所有的青砖砌筑都必须由工人手工操作完成,而且必须与苛刻的工期安排相符合。我们预先设计了5种青砖砖缝模板,通过对5种模板数值的排列归类实现砖隙的渐变效果,同时将砌筑模式加以概括。而实际建成的效果也印证了光影下砖的纹理所具有的水的流动感。这一数字化设计结合低技建造方式实现数字化建造效果的思路正是我们将数字技术与本土建造材料和建造模式的结合。
Spatial layout of this project represents a new interpretation on traditional South China garden. Multiple layout of longitudinal residence and courtyard reflects hierarchical and multi-dimensional spatial pattern of traditional gardens. Ups and downs of building roof embody rolling mountains and rivers, and also function as metaphor of traditional Chinese sloping roof culture.
Design of ripple wall derives from a digital interpretation of water, a flexible natural conception. In beginning, algorithm tries to catch the transient behavior when water tends to be static along time dimension and design transformation provides literal architectural expression on this transient behavior. Finally, traditional building material, blue brick, and staggering joint process are employed, but special hollow joint process actualizes visual effect of dynamic water as well as light and transparent effect of heavy wall. Design focuses are building pattern as well as reasonable fabrication pattern. Robot is not available in current technical and construction conditions for the accurate expression of bricks with across a
variety of staggering scales. All brick masonry shall be completed manually and match rigorous construction schedule. Five kinds of blue brick joint template are provided and joint gradient is achieved through the permutation and classification of the five template values. And then masonry pattern is summarized. It is verified that bricks under light and shadow can embody the dynamic effect of water. Combination of the digital design and low-tech fabrication to actualize digital fabrication exactly reflects the combination of digital technologies and local materialsand fabrication approach.
